In addition, he mentions that the family member who asserted that she was Austen, had never seen Austin herself. Therefore, they can not tell that the girl Austin and the evidence is hardly supported.
Secondly, the writer argues that the face of the girl looks like the face in the sketch made by Austen's sister Cassandra. The lecturer, however, refutes this point by mentioning that Austins's family was very large and extended that have many teenage girls. The experts claim that Marian Campil, Austin's distant niece, could be the true subject of the portrait.
Finally, the author posits that Humphery was the painter of the portrait and he did it at the time when Austen was teenager and also he worked professionally in the late 1780s and the beginning of 1790s. In contrast, the lecturer cast doubt on this by stating that the records have shown that Humphery started his work when he was 27 years old. Thus, at that time Austin was older than the girl in the portrait.
