Professors attending TV shows.
The reading claims that on the appearence of the professor on a television show benefits a public, a university where he teaches and the professor himself and provides three reasons to support. However, the lecturer says that it is not real; appearenece of the professor on the television is not beneficial for neither a public who watches the show nor the university and not even the professor himself. The lecture refutes the claim and provides each reason why it is not so as decribed in the passage.
Firstly, the passage says that the professor will have reuptaion not iside the capmpus where he belongs but also in the outside in the wider area. The lecturer concedes the point but, she says that it will affect the professor from other perspective. he might seems attractive to scientific community to discuss on the specific matter of his relevant field as he may viewed as the professor of the entertainment. Furthermore, he lose his valuable time to prepare for the show and missed out the time which he can use in discussing the important matter in the academic field, research, university business and meeting with the students.
Secondly, according to the lecture, the content provided in the television by the professor merely with a deep findings and extensive knowledge. Balking of TV shows for the deep presentation is the main reason behind the superficial knowledge in the show. As it is not in deep context, it does not meet the needs of the public to learn valuable information from the show. she added that it is that weak in content even the reporter can provide this information in the cursorial preparation.
