The reading text and lecture are both about the pruning of tree. The author of this article feel that pruning is important for the plant. the lecturer disputes all this claim made by the author. He stats that, limited pruning is necessary but, heavy pruning is bad for the plant.

Firstly, according to reading text Pruning is maintain the tree size. The author says that, by using the crown reduction pruning, we can maintain the tree size. In contrast, the lecture states that Sometimes, the bad and poor pruning of the plant is hazardous for the plant. Additionally, he claims that by this technique we cannot keep the plant small and plant attain its maximum hight in few years.

Secondly, the author suggests that, pruning will keep the plant healthy. The reading passage posits that, under the pruning technique we will remove the small branches, which is susceptible to disease. On the other hand, the lecturer point out that, Pruning is stressful operation for the plant. Moreover, he stance that, it will remove the major source of the food and it will affect the photosynthesis of the plant.

Finally, the reading text mention that, Pruning will maintain the natural shape and beauty of the tree. On the opposite side, the lecturer says that, by this plant operation the plant can lose it's natural shape and wear of the ugly shape. On top of that, he says that, light pruning is beneficial for the plant, instead of the frequent chain saw pruning.

In conclusion, the reading text and lecturer are both about the pros and cons of the pruning. The lecturer is effectively manage to challenge all the major points made by the author in this reading text.``
