Should government spend more money on improving roads and highways, or on improving public transportation (buses, trains, subways)? Why? Use specific reasons to develop your essay.
Assessment of a modern society related to the percentage of people who use public transportation or not. Nowadays there is an important debate about having a personal car or using other alternatives such as buses, trains, etc. personally, I believe the government should spend more money on something like metro that can be used by most of the people not only some of them who has their own cars. I feel this way for two main reasons, that I will explore in the following lines.
First of all, air pollution has been a great issue currently which made it hard for many parts of the society to use roads in the city for walking, jogging or biking. personal vehicles are really important in this matter, to make the air polluted. On the other hand, public transportation is a safe way to reduce the hazardous of the things that a car releases to the air. my personal experience is a compelling example of this, 4 years ago, I was living in the middle of a crowded town in which all the people used to have their own cars, hence, the air pollution made me sick and I left the place to more healthy.
Secondly, there are more costs for a government to pay to improve the roads and highways, indeed it can't be a suitable deal for them because a single road most be saved all the time by the money of the government, However, people in all of the countries most pay to use public transportation. For instance, In my country, people do not have to pay for any road into and outside of cities, but all kinds of public transportation costs for the people, so it makes money for the government.
To sum up, I am of the opinion that government should spend more money on developing a matter which is same for most of the people, such as public transportation, this is because of effects of personal cars on pollution of the air and because of the increase of the cost to pay for the government.
