Sinosauroteryx

Essay topics:

Sinosauroteryx

The listening lecture totally opposes to the reading passage in rather Sinosauroteryx had feathers or not. First of all, the reading says that the fine lines in the fossil might be fibers instead of feathers. However, the listening argues that it is unlikely that the lines are fibers. There are no evidence shows that the dinosaur's skin had been decompose. Besides, there are other animals' fossil had been found and they are all well preserve. As a result, the Sinosauroteryx's fossil should also be well preserve. As a result, if their fossils had been well preserve, how can it decompose into fibers?

Secondly, while the reading asserts that the lines are more likely to be frills instead of feathers, the listening implies that there is a specific protein that can solve this problem. This protein can only be found in the feathers, none of the researchers can find this protein in the frills. As a result, this is a distinctive point that can indicate the lines are evidence of fibers. In other words, this protein is extremely important because it can show rather it is a feather or a frill.

Last but not least, the reading suggests that the lines in the Sinosauroteryx fossil were located along the backbone or the tail which is not for flying. However, the listening argues that feathers may have some other proposes. For example, the peacock will use its feathers for a distinct function call display function which is for attracting mates. Evidences had found that Sinosauroteryx structure is actually colorful. Therefore, these feather are use for displaying instead of flying.
