He had some high-ranked position suggestions, but he rejected them in order to support human rights. However, the lecturer says that in the eighteenth century, people were looking for some heroes to be inspired by, and these stories stem from this fact. In fact, there are no evidence that can prove the validitably of these stories. As a result, the passage's statement can not be reliable.
