Essay topics:

a specific painting, including portrait of a woman's face, attributed to Rembrandt

Both the reading materials and the listening materials discuss three hypotheses around a portrait of an Elderly Woman in White Bonnet painted by Rembrandt. The reading points out that the painting is not Rembrandt's painting because this painting contains a few different styles from him. In contrast, the listening uses a number of points to refute the reading passage and prove the portrait of the woman is his painting.

The article of the reading, firstly, suggests that Rembrandt's most of the painting takes attention to clothes' small details but this painting's woman only wear a white linen cap. The listening, however, elucidates that the painting of woman was his art when researchers do an x-ray on the painting. some owner of the painting makes some extra details to increase the value of the painting.

Furthermore, the reading passage mentions the painting's light and shadow do not match the Rembrandt's light and shadow. Nevertheless, the professor gives a statement that portrait of woman wears a white linen cap that reflects light, and when seeing the real painting and color reflection of light and shadow, this painting looks really realistic.

The last point of the reading adds that Rembrandt does not use a glued wood panel. The listening rejects this idea saying that wooden panel used in the portrait of the woman and other paintings were from the same tree. because of this masterpiece of art stays a long time, the artists repair its' wooden panel by using glue to makes it more valuable and granted.
