Whereas the author of the reading claims that human activities have caused decreasing in the birds population, the lecturer refutes this fact and she states that birds are not in danger anymore. First, according to the text, the expantion of human populations leads to abolish many birds habitats such as forests and so forth. However, the lecturer believes that other birds spicies have better and larger habitats which causes to the growth of population of some specific spicies in the urban area. Birds like pegons are found frequently in the streets of the cities.
Secondly, increase in human population requries that agricultural activities, also enchances as the author asserts, although the lecturer states that in the U.S hardly ever wilderness lands convert to agricultural lands because new crops are developed which have no needs to destroy any birds' habitats .
Finally, the text mentions that the usage of pesticides jeoperdize the birds' life because birds might drink water which is polluted by poisnous chemicals. Nevertheless, the lecturer alleges that presently people know about the results of the pesticides' use. She explains that todays farmers are using new and lower level toxic materials which are environmental friendly, and the novel crops are genetically designed that are pest-resistant, which do not need any pesticides.
