Essay topics:

summarize the points made in the lecture about Agnostids probable living areas, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points made in the reading about Agnostids living place.

The reading discusses different theories about Agnostid creatures living place. However, the professor, in the lecture, refuses to accept these theories about Agnostids, since she thinks that they have significantly weaknesses. She mentions three reasons to refute each of the proposed hypothesis made in the reading.

First, the article states that Agnostids could be free swimming predators that find their food by hunting smaller animals present in the area. But, professor opposes this belief and she reminds that sea predators use to have strong eye sight for hunting in the water. In contrast, Agnostids had poor eye sight ability and even some of them were almost blind which can bother them in hunting. Moreover, the fossil records do not show any evidence implying that these animals posses good vision.

Second, the passage regards that they may be lived in sea floor deep in the oceans. In contrary, professor illustrates in her lecture that sea floor can not be the Agnostids habitat, because animals who use to live in the bottom of the sea normally move slowly and choose limited local regions as their habitat. But, Agnostids are known for their large living areas and fast moving pace. So, they can not dwell in sea floor logically.

Third, the reading explains that there is a chance that they may be actually be parasites who get their feed from larger organisms. On the other hand, she indicates that this assumption can not be true, since parasites used to colonize in a certain amount of population, while, Agnostids considered as species that are found in large numbers which is similarly proved according to fossil records studied by scientists.
