There is a writing about a painting which is said that it is not a painting of Rembrandt, and there is a lecture about it which is said that it is Rembrandt's painting. Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure explain how they answer the specific problems presented in writing.
In this set of materials, the reading passage and the listening section are about a painting called Portrait of an Elderly Woman in a White Bonnet. While the writer is in the opinion that it was not painted by Rembrandt's himself, the lecturer claims that it is an original painting made by Rembrandt.
Firstly, the writer states that there is a contradict between the cloths of woman in the painting, so as a careful painter Rembrant did not lose attention for details. On the other hand, the lecturer points out that the pigments in the painting are shown as in the original paintings, thus it was probably painted by Rembrandt.
Secondly, the writer indicates that although in the painting the face of woman is illuminated by light reflected onto it from below, the face is in dark. As a master of painting, Rembrandt did not make such an error. In contrast, the lecturer says that the painter used simple color to be reflected by light. Thus, the face of woman was illuminated. This is so realistic as in the original paintings of Remberandt.
Lastly, according to author although Rembrandt often painted on single wood panels, this painting was painted on a panel made of several pieces of wood, so it is probably not Remberandt's painting. On the contrary, the professor states that it is true that Rembrandt's orginal paintings was made on single piece of wood, but Portrait of an Elderly Woman in a White Bonnet was made on a piece of wood enlarged.
All in all, while the writer states that several proufs shows that Portrait of an Eldery Woman in a White Bonnet is not a painting of Rembrandt, the lecturer opposes this idea with three claims.
- Do you agree work in team or alone. 70
- There is a reading passage in which the writer states that humans and other mammals beheave alturistic. On the other hand, the lecturer rejects this claim with some examples in the listening part. Write an essay to contrast them. 81
- Television or movies have influence on people’s behaviors. Discuss it. 76
- Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people enjoy life more than older people do. Use specific reasons and examples to support your idea. 73
- There is a writing in which it is stated that appearing on television brings benefits to professors, universities and public. On the contarary, in the listening passage the lecturer opposes this idea. Summarize the point mad in the lecture, being sure to 73
