TOEFL T P O 18 Integrated Writing Task extinction of the Torreya Taxifoha

Both the reading and the listening passage talk about the Torreya taxifolia; a plant found in Florida, which is going to be extinct. While the reading passage states three possible options to address this extinction, the professor disputes the claims made in the article that they are not satisfactory solutions.
First of all, according to the reading passage, this plant can be re-established in the same location, where all the environment and the climate are the same; microclimate. This argument is challenged by the professor. She asserts that due to global warming that area is going to warm, which is not a favor for this plant. In addition, Florida is drained day by day and is becoming dry. As a result, this plant could not survive in such a condition.
Second, the author suggests assisted migration; the seeds and the sampling are spread widely in the northern region, where the temperature is suitable for this plant. However, the professor argues that the relocated place is full of a species of tree called the Black Locust tree, which spreads out very quickly and kills other endangered plants. Consequently, relocation will give unpredicted outcomes.
Third, the author contends that this endangered plant can be preserved in the research center under the favorable condition of the laboratory. This will be beneficial for things; to conduct research and protect this plant. In contrast, the professor's stance is that in the laboratory condition, the plant could not resist diseases. In this regard, the laboratory should be robust enough for the area, where genetically diverse and relatively large population plants can be planted. This will be practically impossible.
