Both the reading and the listening discuss the facts behind the Rembrandt portrait whether it is attributed to Rembrandt or not. The reading argues that the portrait about the woman with the fur collar couldn't be one of the Rembrandts art work and provides three points of support. However, the lecture casts doubts on all these claims and contradicts the three points that discussed in the reading.

According to the reading, the author says that there are inconsistent in the portrait, since the elements did not fit together. The woman dress very expensive fur collar which is not suited with the white linen cap. However, the professor refutes this idea by explaining that the fur collar was not a part of the original portrait, it was just added one hundred yeas after to increase the value of the portrait.

Secondly, the reading avers that there is disharmony between the woman illuminated face and the dark fur collar since as we all know the dark collar clothes suppose to absorb the light not reflect it so the woman face should not be illuminated in this portrait. On the other hand, the lecturer oppose this point by illustrating that in the original painting the dress color was white that could reflect the light instead of absorbing it.

Finally, the reading claims that the panel of the portrait is made of several pieces glued together and Rembrandt never use a panel such this. Nevertheless, the lecture illustrated this point by demonstrating that when the fur collar to the portrait ,they added more pieces to accommodate it. Besides, the original portrait was from the same tree that Rembrandt's other art work from
