The lecturer claims that in the original painting the fur collar would reflect light and illuminate the face. She adds that the light and the shadow are realistic just as expected.
Third, the reading claims that the examination of the back of the reading indicates that it was painted on several pieces of wood glued together which is not what Rembrandt usually did. The lecturer contends that the painting is enlarged to seem more grand and more valuable, but the original one was drawn on a single wood and it was portrayed exactly on the wood of the same tree which Rembrandt always used to record his art of painting.
