The reading passage and the lecture are both about cons and pros of hydrogen-based fuel-cell engine. The author of the reading believes that hydrogen will became the best constitution for the oil fuel.
The lecturer considers that the statments made in the reading passage are to optimistic about the future of the hydrogen based engines, and she reinforces her opinion by making several examples.
First of all, hydrogen is presented in all compaunds, but it’s artificial as a pure element. The lecturee agree on that hydrogen is the well presented resourse, but she denotes that it’s hard to produce and store hydrogen in the liquid form, because of the low temperature.
The subsequent lecturer argument is related to statment made in the passage, that using hydrogen-based fuel-cell engine will cause the decline of pollution. She disputes this by claiming that the hydrogen manufacturing process will increase pollution. She states that process of purification and syntesis of hydrogen from the coal and oil will pollute the atmosphere more than the novel hydrogen-based fuel-cell engines.
Finally, it is implied that the hydrogen fuel will by cheaper that the oil fuel. However, the lecturer claims that the engines consisted from expensive platinum material will cost much more money than the usual oil-based engines. She states that the manufacturing procedure of hydrogen is going to be pricy as well.
