The reading of the passage and the lecture discusses this fascinating topic Yellow Cedar which is a kind of tree is very much found in northwestern North America tree was founded at 1880. the reading of the passage state that they have know the reason way, Yellow Cedar tree is extinct now to support this reading passage provide three supporting points in this. Which the lecture casts serious doubt on the claims made in the reading of the passage. He thinks that we still don't know the exact reason why Yellow Cedar is extinct now.
First of all, the article claims that first reason is Ceder beetles are the reason why the tree is extinct know, the beetles are attacks tree for larvae and eat wood they do not borck tree but they did some damage. This point is challenged by the professor as he states that Yellow Cedar tree is much more resigned then this they have poisons on the tree so if beetles come to eat they are damaging their sell, not the tree as poison is too high they don't have a chance to eat much of tree.
Secondly, the author states that bears can be the reason as they often try to break the tree by claws for eating the bark of the tree is high sugar. This point is rebute by lecture. As the professor said this is likely to happen bears although bears brock some of the trees but this can be the main cause to illustrate this professor give the example of the island is state that not only in North America but overall area tree are extinct bear are not found in the island there also tree are extinct which means bear is not responsible for this.
Finally, the reading passage claims because of climate change the tree is extinct furthermore said that know claim is hotter than cool that way the tree is dead. The professor gives the data in this topic as he said the climate change but this not affect the tree because the tree is dead more in lower temperature than the higher temperature if reading state true tree did not die in cold temperature but according to the date they die more in cold then hot.
In summary, reading the passage failed to claims any of the reason why Yellow Cedar extinct therefore reading passage fails to support the reason why Yellow Cedar extinct.
