The reading passage and the lecturer are both discussing the evidences of the remained blood vessels, blood cells and collagen matrix in the T. rex’s leg bone. The author of the snippet believes that there are some strong evidences was found by researches which approve the existance of the remnants of this blood system components. However, the lecturer considers that the statements made in the reading passage are wrong, and he reinforces his opinion by providing three explantions.
First of all, there is indicated in the reading fragment that the branching channels was found inside the bone which could be a representation of the actual blood vessels. However, the speaker asserts that the remained channels could be traces of the bacterias colonies, which were living in the bone. Consequently, the organic substance inside the bone was produced by the bacterias.
The subseguent lecturer argument is related to the statement made in the excerpt that presence of the spheres is an evidence of the red blood cells. The lecturer disputes this by claiming that this spheres was found not only in the T. rex bone, but also in more simple organisms next to the place, where this bone was found. Therefore, the spheres have different origin, such as mineral traces.
Finally, there is denoted in the reading fragment that the particular test on the bone showed that bone contained collagen. But the lecturer doesn’t agree with this statement by stating that collagen could be determined only in the fossils 1000 years old, and he supposes that this collagen could accidently came from skin of the reasercher.
