The lecture and the reading passage both discuss vessels -- ancient electric batteries that can produce a small electric energy. The reading claims that people did not used electric batteries because there were not evidence facts that support this opinion. However, the professor in the lecture challenges the suggestions stated by the author and disprove all of the facts by proving them scientifically wrong.

First of all, the text indicate that vessels used as batteries, attaching to metal wires, but there are not any material near the vessels's location. The professor refutes this and says that local people found these vessels and they probably did not acquired other significant parts that could connect with vessels.

Secondly, the text puts that part of vessels was discovered in Seleucie -- the aria near ancient city location. According to the text nearby area used this part for holding scrolls, but not for generating energy. The professor counter this point by saying that Seleucie could use this part originally for holding scrolls of sacred texts, but then they changed a specialization of this detail.

The reading points that ancient people did not have devices that replied on electricity. The lecture denies this and talks that people used batteries for producing shock. Moreover, they used electric energy such as a medical tool.
