TPO 27 integrated writing Little ice age
In this set materials, the reading passage state that 3 main reasons for causing a little ice age. On the other hand, the listening section brings into question the reading points by providing different reasons (and examples).
First of all, the reading passage indicates that some glaciers were melted and this cold water sent to the Gulf Stream and made a little ice age. In contrast, the lecturer opposes this view by mentioning that the Gulf Stream only cover Europe and North America, but the little ice age occurs in the southern hemisphere such as Newsland and Africa. Therefore, the Gulf Stream disruption is not a good reason for little ice age occurrence.
Secondly, the reading argues that volcano eruption made sulfur and dust, and sent to the air; therefore, it made dark clouds that prevent the sunshine. Conversely, what the lecturer believes is different. He points that dark cloud would not make on that time. Because, if a dark cloud had made, some reports would say about the presence of dark rain or snow. But there is not any report of these phenomena in historical evidence and this hypothesis may not be possible.
Finally, according to the reading, decrease the human population is another reason, so they did not cut trees and trees remove CO2 from the air and reduction of the greenhouse effect and made the earth cooler. However, the speaker claims that the human population quickly increased, and people started to cut tree for made land, They had to proper some agriculture land for produced food.
