TPO 36: Question: Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they respond to the specific points made in the reading passage.

In the set of materials the reading talk about, possibility of a method of reduce hail, called cloud seeding. And the listening passage argue about, it was not possible to use this method

The reading section explain about, hail that has been a problem for farmers and some areas in United State. several pieces of evidence suggested that cloud seeking ( a method used for reduce the hail) has been effective in protecting crops from hail. First, in laboratory experiment they added silver iodide to cold water vapor in the laboratory, they observed light snow instead of hail. second, according to evidence from Asian, that show cloud seeding has been successfully used to control precipitation in urban areas, and according to local studies, that in an area where cloud seeding was used there was reduced hail damage compared to previous years.

The listening passage argue about reasons show the reading passage not convincing enough that cloud seeding is used full because this experiment be in the laboratory condition but in the real life after cloud seeding might be observed rain or snow instead of light snow. And second, according to evidence in Asia, this method can’t control precipitation and cause to reducing the rainfall. And the last the cities where we have a lot of pollution and maybe is not occur in pollution area.

To sum it all up, by taking all the detailes into consideration , the listening passage don’t support the evidence in reading passage and use of this method maybe cause to some addition problem in some areas.
