The reading and lecture both discuss the possibility of living on venous surface. While the reading provides three reasons that inhibit the life on venous, the professor refute, saying that none of these claims are convincing.
Firstly, the reading states that the atmosphere pressure on venous is very high. So, anything will land on the venous surface will crushed. However, the professor argues this notion by saying that we can stablish station like ballon on venous like 50 coulometer. As a result, the high pressure problem can be solved. Moreover, the high pressure will be equal to the earth pressure. So, nothing will crushed.
In addition, the article avers that we have to get oxygen and water supply from earth. This is because there is no water or oxygen on venous surface. On the other hand, the professor rejects this idea by pointing out that there is carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid on the venous surface. Furthermore, these chemicals substance can make chemical reaction with chemical materials. So, we can get oxygen and water and there is no need to import them from earth.
Finally, the reading mentions that due to the thick clouds there is not enough sunlight will reach the venous surface. Nevertheless, the professor questions this idea by explaining that clouds is there . However, these clouds are nit thick enough. So, the sunlight can go through. As a result, the sunlight can power the electric station.
