TPO-42 - Integrated Writing Task Glass is a favored building material for modern architecture, yet it is also very dangerous for wild birds. Because they often cannot distinguish between glass and open air, millions of birds are harmed every year when the

In this set of materials, the author of the reading passage explaining three methods that can prevent the birds fly through the glass make them died or got injured. However, the professor thinks authors' theories contain some defects.

First of all, the author states that we can use the one-way glass, which can reflect like the mirror, instead of regular glass. Because when the birds can't see through the windows, they won't try to penetrate through the windows. On the contrary, the professor indicates that like the author's say one-way glass can reflect. So if the birds see the glass reflects sky or tree, they still can fly through it.

In addition, the author claims that we can use painted glasses. When birds would like to fly through, they will see the color there and stop it, still, people can see out through the window, that part won't get painted. However, the professor disagrees. He explains that the birds still can fly through the window, which part is not get painted. Unless there is a tiny hole can't let them not try to fly through. But it is too dark for inside area.

Finally, the author raises the points that we can adopt an artificial magnetic to lead the birds to other directions instead of bumping on windows since birds have an innate ability to sense earth's magnetic fields. On the other hand, the professor asserts that birds only use the magnetic ability when they travel the long distance, such as migrating. Normally, the birds use their bright eyes to see instead of magnetic ability.
