When it comes to the topic of managing universities’ budgets, people tend to develop various viewpoints. Most of them generally adopts the idea that schools and universities, in order to sharpen student skills and knowledge, should pay more attention on faculty system. On the other hand, a few others believes that school should invest in infrastructure and physical plant because it is more important. Personally, I find myself at the same place with the second notion for the following reasons.
First and foremost, along with the expansion of global warming and other environmental issues, the living condition for people is not as safety as in the past. To solve this problem, humans created high technology to protect them physically and biologically. For example, we have air condition to balance the heat, protecting us from getting too hot or too cold. By keeping the temperature around us constantly, air condition allows humans to avoid the environment isuesses. On the contrary, the faculty members are also uses the universities’ substructure like students, this means not only they find the solution to avoid the global issues, but also they cannot protect their students from these. As a result, to give students a healthy studying environment, universities should focus on infrastructure. To be more specific, they should invest on modern machines to protect student from population.
Furthermore, using modern technology enable students to study more efficiently. In fact, with the support of technology, student can acquire the lesson faster. To be more clearly, let take a chemical class as an example to illstatrade this. The professor in this class wanted to explain the chemical reaction for the student, but the molecules were too small to be seen by eyes. However, the professor used a screen that had a video describe the reaction; indeed, it was not hard for his students to understand because the video was very detail. What can be clear to see from this example is technology enable student to study better so universities should develop their substructure. In contrast, not every faculty worker can manage this, so invest on them is a big waste of financial fund.
In brief, in order to create a healthy and effective environment for students, it is more important for university to invest on infrastructure than on faculty satisfied. In order to maintain the studying qualities, modern technology is the strongest weapon.
