TPO-47 - Integrated Writing Task Pterosaurs were an ancient group of winged reptiles that lived alongside the dinosaurs. Many pterosaurs were very large, some as large as a giraffe and with a wingspan of over 12 meters. Paleontologists have long wondered

The reading states that Pterosaurs, which were an ancient group of winged reptiles, were not capable of fliging and provides three reaaons. The professor, however, explains that Pterosaurs may have power flight and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the reading claims that Pterosaurs were cold-blooded, which are not able to fly. The professor refutes this point by stating that Pterosaurs had hair, which enable them to fly. She says that birds which are covered with hair are warm-blooded animals. Besides, she mentions that warm-blooded birds are able to fly. She concludes that because Pterosaurs were warm-blooded and were capable of producing a lot of energy, they could fly.
Second, the reading indicates that Pterosaurs could not fly because of their heavy weight. The professor explains that though Pterosaurs had larg size, they were very light. She says that their bones were hollow which were very light. As a result, she mentions that they were very light and were able to fly.
Third, the reading states that birds which fly can take off on the ground but Pterosaurs could not do because they were very larg. The professor opposes this point by compairing Pterosaurs with birds. She says that birds have two legs and they use them to take off. On the other hand, the professor says that Pterosaurs walk on four legs, thus, they have truble to walk very fast and they have enough energy to jump.
