Firstly, the reading claims that pesticides are the most contributor in the problem of declining frog population. Controversy, the professor reckons that farmers usually have used pesticides to increase the amount of crops each year. Actually, introducing laws to prohibited the farmers from using pesticides can have negative effect on the crops production and the agricultural industry can be damaged by new laws.
Secondly, the reading affirms that by treating or preventing infection, including antifungal medication can cope with the problem of fungus. In contrast, the professor points out that this method of treatment is not practical. Since each individual frog must be capture and treated by antifungal. Furthermore, this treatment must be repeated for each generation. Therefore, this method is not only complex, but also expensive.
Eventually, although, the reading introduces the natural habitat of frogs have been threated and this problem has posed a dire effect on the population of frogs, the professor claims that global warming is culprit of this extinction. Since, due to the global warming the level of water lake increase and as a result, frogs have lost their habitat.
