In the lecture, the professor makes a series of points that cast doubt on the all the arguments presented in the reading passage about the migration of hump whale by star. The lecturer states none of the evidences in the reading is convincing.

First, the professor states the intelligence and navigation are not related to each other. He gives the example of ducks and birds which migrate but are not very intelligent and in fact have average intelligent. They find their way by instinct not their intellectual abilities. This refutes the claim of author that connects migration to overall intelligence and states the hump whale due to high intelligent animal use star for navigation.

Second, the professor says the straight line usage of whales for navigation is not due to external object and they use magnetic field for their movement and being in line. The whales have bio magnetic in their head which is sensation to magnetic field and be oriented by it. It is contradicted to the claim of the writer about sun and star as external object for navigation.

Third, the speaker states the hump whales navigation is nothing to do by looking the stars. He states shark also migrate and they look to the star for their hunting and even in the day whales look to the star and this is pure speculation.
