The article states that a humpback whales are the answer for the puzzling question of how animals control to migrate for extremely large distance. The reading passage gives three reasons of support by argued the theory of humpback whales navigate the stars, but the professor refutes each of these points.

First, the reading states that the humpback whales are seems to be very smart to navigate the stars as their brains are too complex and the article supposed that brain complexity is the mean of intelligence. But the professor refutes this point by saying that there is not any evidence for connect between stars navigate and intelligence and he gives an example of birds like ducks as, they also used to navigate stars but they are not seem to be very smart. In order to that, intelligence is not an evidence of star navigation.

Second, the reading passage claimed that humpback are always migrate in straight lines and it argued that they follow the stars as the signs for their way and they do not like terrestrial animals of birds that have landmarks to follow. However the professor opposes that point by explained that the reason for make them directed in straight lines is the bi-magnification center in their brains that allowed them to oriented themselves and moved in straight way by the sense and attraction towards magnification field.

Third, the reading passage posses that humpback whales exhibit a strange behavior as they are often observed floating straight up for minutes. Although the professor explained that spy-hopping is rare for instance sharks do not migrate or look to stars while they spy, but they just look for the animals that they want to hunt.
