The reading specifies that traditional encyclopedia are more valuable compare to the communal encyclopedias. Nevertheless, the professor illustrate that both of them are not perfect but there are more advantagous in using online one and provides three points to supports his idea.
First, based on the reading, communal online encyclopedia are not accurate since people who attribute to it, lack academic credentials. However, the professors asserts that, the online and traditional encyclopedia both have errors and are not a complete refrence. the advantages of the online version is that its errors can be corrected compare to the printed version.
Second, according to the passage, hackers can easily delete, corrupt and fabricate the online encyclopedia while they can not change the old verions of them. In contrast, the speaker states that, the online books are protected from hackers since their format can not be altered and also the crucial fact on the encyclopedia can not be change.
Third, the reading states that the communal encyclopedias do not pay attention to popular and trivial topics which can cause problem for people who use them. But, the traditional encyclopedias provides a considered view of what topic is vital. On the contrary, the professor says that the mentioned point is because of limited space which is not a issue. Academic expert exist and they accurately divers information which is a strong for this online encyclopedias.
