TPO INTEGRATED 16

There has been many debate among archeology of science whether the uncovering and studying of old artifact are faced with serious problems or not. The lecture says that the process of dedicating old artifacts is not faced by any problems. However, the reading argues that there are many problems faced the archaeologists while they are discovering  the artifacts.

The first point of dispute is if  any valuable artifact lost during the construction. The lecture claims that if the construction site is the site of interest, the  building company and the government work together to protect nay artifacts. Either by building around them or excavating them. On contrary, the reading states that due to the increase in the population in Britain they are digging to build homes and uncovered valuable artifacts. Many precious artifact destroyed.

Another controversial issue is if the financial support for the archeological research is adequate  or not. The lecture claims that the construction company is responsible for all the expenses. the funding from construction companies allowed the researchers to study far beyond than they could in the past. But the reading contradict this point saying that  the researcher are funded through the government.  there is not enough money provided, thus researcher only focus on important project.

The final point of dispute is if the archeologist can find job easily or not. The professor says that  there are a lot of paid work in the archeological career. For example, examine the site, do the preservation and do the research. Yet, the reading disagrees, saying that archeological work only found in universities and some government agencies.
