TPO INTEGRATED 44

There has been many  debates among whether the coins that discovered in the  united states are genuine historical pieces or not. The lecture claims that the coins  are actually true  and not fake and they  are consider to be genuine historical pieces. However, the reading argues that the coins is fake and placed in America to mislead the public.

The first point of dispute is the great distance between the north settlement and the native American site. The lecture says that native  American people are interested in collecting historical objects from far away places, for example, many other objects rather than the coins were found at the north America site. According to the professor, may be the north American people travel to the north and brought the coins with them. However, the reading refutes this point. It states that the  distance between the main site and the north is thousands kilometers. So it was hard to get the coins from that far places.

Another controversial issue is that there was no other coins found at the Canadian site inhabited by the north. The  lecture says that the north did not create permanent settlement in north America, they went back to Europe and on their way back the packed up all their stuff including the coins, that is why there were no coins found at the north. But, the reading refutes this point by stating that the north did not bring any coins with them to North America.

The final issue for the  debate is that the coins were most likely with less important value to the north American people. The lecture contends that the north found that the coin were attractive to the North American people. They could use them in neckless or other type of jewelry. Thus the North start to trade the coins with North American people. Yet, the reading disagrees. It claims that the north American did not recognize the silver coins as money.
