The lecture and the passage discuss the application of a mystrey book which has been written in a unknown script. Although the passage claims that there are three theories for the origin of this book, the speaker refutes these theories through a number of reasons which will be described in this report.
First of all, the passage points out that this book could be a original work containing several scientific or magical topics, as the Antony Ascham did in sixteenth-century. The speaker, in contrast, rejects this idea by claiming that Ascham was a ordinary physician who had some typical ideas. As a result, he could not write a high-level scientific book due to the reason that his knowledge was in a low-level to have a breakthrough idea.
Furthermore, unlike the passage which states tha this book could be written by Edward Kelly who was notorious to write some meaningful book to appealing people and receive some money, the professor argues that it was quiet easy to fool people on those time due to the fact that they were not well-informed. He also believes that Kelly could write a simpler book to foolish people since this complex manuscript was not essential.
Finally, although the passage says that this manuscript might be written by the Voynich himself to decive people to buy it as a antique book, the speaker disagrees by mentioning that this manuscript has been written by a ink which its age have been estimated more than 400 years old. Therefore, the Voynich could not fake a ink with this age.
Through the reasons which have been described above, the passage claims are rejected by the professor.
