TPO49-Humpback whales
The article and the lecture are both about the migration ability of humpback whales and whether they can manage a long-distance migration. On the contrary, the lecture challenges the argument by indicating that sensing the external objects or physical forces is the key for whales to maintain their direction. there is a magnet built inside their bodies helping them feel the way to the destination.
Finally, the author considers that a special behavior called spy-hopping, which occurs among animals rarely, explains how humpback looks upon the stars to distinguish its way when migrating in a long distance. The lecturer, on the other hand, questions that humpback exhibits such behaviors on the purpose of migration. he further illustrates that sharks, for instance, conduct spy-hooping to hunt for food. Additionally, they behave in this way while there are no stars in the sky, demonstrating that spy-hooping has nothing to do with migration.
