TV appearances by professors.

Essay topics:

TV appearances by professors.

The professor in the lecture completely disagrees with the content of the passage. She states that if professors appear on television then that would have adverse effects rather than being advantageous to them.

Firstly she argues when a professor makes a TV appearance, it would create wrong impression among other scholarly fellow, considering him/her to be mere entertaining person instead of being serious about his work. The professor might not be invited to important conferences and even face difficulty in getting donations for his/her research work.

After this she explains that appearing on TV programs will waste lot of valuable time of professor. She cities preprogram preparations, rehearsal of content  delivery and even appearance making as the main reasons for time consumption. Instead of this the professor could have focused on the research work, important university business activities and taking lectures, which would be more beneficial to university, students and to the professor itself.

At last she explains why general public wont be benefited to the extent as stated in the passage. She states that when a professor talks in any TV program he/she covers much more general aspect of the topic.Such content can also be delivered by tv show anchors themself .
