The charts below show UK and USA energy consumption in 2000 and 2006.
The diagrams illustrate the changes in energy consumption and the usage of different renewable energy sources in the United Kingdom and the USA between 2000 and 2006.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that oil and coal are mostly utilized in the UK, whereas gas, nuclear power and other sources are more popular in the USA.
It is noticeable, that coal was one of the most used as energy source in the UK and USA, 30% and 35% respectively. However, in 2006 its usage decreased dramatically to 15% in the UK and 25% in the USA. The second most popular source was oil,27% and 37% in 2000, respectively. By contrast, this trend , unlike coal, slightly increased in the energy consumption, reaching a peak of 30% and 40%. Likewise, gas consumption also went through a sharp rise in usage. UK gas consumption almost doubled in 2006, and in the USA its percentage rose from 15% to 25%.
As regards the least used sources, like nuclear power and other ones, they sharply declined, except the usage of other renewable sources in the UK, which remained constant at 10%. This ends my report.
