you recently lost your driving licence and someone sent it back to you. Write a letter to him/her.
How important the licence is to you
Asking how he/she found it
Saying how you would love to thank him/her
Dear Mike,
I am writing to express my gratitude for returning my lost driving license.
As I live far from my work place and have to commute by driving a four wheeler, the license is a crucial aspect of my day-to day life. Driving with a license may have severe consequences. It is not only illegal but can put one's life into jeopardy.
Th last time i saw my license was before y wallet had got stolen. However, I had launched a complain for the wallet and it's content, but was exceedingly displeased to receive no response from the department. I would like to know where did you find the license as it will help the police to search for other contents as well.
At last, I am so glad that you took the pain to drive all the way to my residence to return it. In order to compensate for it , Why don't you drop in for a couple of drinks and snacks at my place on Friday evening. My wife and I would surely want to know more about you and also will get a chance to thank you in person.
I hope to see you on Friday.
Regards,
Jake
