What are the causes, effects, solutions for global warming?
Over the past few decades, global warming has become one of the biggest issues having detrimental impacts on people as well as nature, and human beings are mainly responsible for this. In this essay, I will discuss the causes, effects, and some possible solutions for this problem.
There are several main factors leading to global warming, the rise in the average temperature of the earth due to the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. One of the biggest causes of this phenomenon is carbon dioxide emissions from coal-burning power plants. When people burn coal to produce electricity, the carbon footprint which traps heat is released significantly into the environment. Another contributing factor to global climate change is deforestation. While forests can lessen the amount of CO2, people have a tendency to cut down trees because of their demands for wood, paper, or farming land. That individuals are using more motor vehicles running on petrol is also a key contributor bringing about global warming.
The consequences of the increase in the earth’s temperature are catastrophic. Global warming has serious repercussions for our lives. The growth in temperature can result in extreme weather patterns like severe storms, heatwaves, floods, and droughts. These weather-related natural disasters undeniably kill or injure many people. Moreover, this problem poses a great threat to the animal kingdom. The widespread extinction of millions of species results from that animals are not able to adapt to the change caused by global warming in their habitat.
Since global warming has such impacts, we should immediately take some effective measures in order to reduce it. One of the most important steps that should be taken first is to be well-informed about global warming. Then we should raise the public’s awareness of the main causes and serious effects of global warming. Changing your lifestyle is another practical solution. We can start planting trees, using green methods of transportation, and cutting down on energy use.
In conclusion, global warming which is man-made is one of the greatest threats to lives on the earth. Therefore, everyone should take action to alleviate this problem.
