The bar chart illustrates the data about the favorite recreational pursuits of children in two nations in 2007. Overall, the young Australians were more likely to do outdoor activities, whereas the New Zealander children were more involved in indoor activities.
For Australian youths, most of them enjoyed doing sporting activities, which accounted for approximately 28%. Besides that, the second highest proportion of 25% children enjoyed visiting parks. The third most popular activity were watching video games and playing computer games, which both attracted 15%. The least popular activity were reading, and art and crafts, which accounted for 10% and 7% respectively.
Turning to the young New Zealanders, the highest rate was art and crafts, which accounted for 25%. The same proportion of 17% of children liked reading and watching video games. The third most common activity was playing computer games, which attracted only 15%. The same percentage of young New Zealanders were interested in visiting parks and doing sports, they were the lowest percentage at about 13%.
