The given bar chart illustrates the information about the students used five types (car passenger, walking, cycling, walking and bus, bus) of transportation modes for trips of one country in 1990 and 2010.

Overall, the walking was preferred by majority of students for trip in 1990 while most of the students chose car for their travel in 2010.

Regarding the bar chart, the highest number of students walked for their trip which accounted for almost 12.5 millions in comparison with least preference given to car by only 4.5 millions of students in 1990. The other categories cycling, walking with bus and bus was selected by 6.2, 5.9 and 6.5 millions of students respectively.

On the other hand, the reverse has been observed in the case of car passenger, they peaked at 10.5 millions in 2010 in contrast to last in 1990. The figures for all the other categories plummeted drammatically up to 6, 2, 3 and 4.5 for walking, cycling, walking with bus and bus respectively.
