The author interprets about the benefit of working four days instead of five days. To be specific, he gives three reasons to allow employ to work for four days. On the contrary, speaker of the listening section does not agree with this statement and clarifies it with giving his opinion on it.

In the beginning writer says that if company allows employ to work only for four days, it has to pay less and they will get more rest and alert for their work. It has less chances to make mistakes in work and it has to pay less which is profitable for organization. Where as speaker goes against it and says that company needs to spend much more money for hiring new employee and has to provide medical benefit, training, more office space and computer which costs more than current situation.

Secondly, according to writer's view, providing four hours helps to reduce unemployment rate. But in this case, speaker opposes by saying employers may expect same work as before though employees are working four days and think they can do the same amount in four days. Furthermore they may be asked to work for overtime so there is no hope for reducing unemployment.

Finally, author of the essay believes for the quality time of the workers as the get more time after working only for four days and they can spend their extra time with family. But on the other hand, lecturer refuses and and says only working four days may have chances of not upgrading career growth. Moreover, employees who are working for five days have chances of getting management position in the office.
