Essay topics:

Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they challenge the specific points made in the reading passage.

The reading and the lecture are both about endotherm animals. The writer of the reading believes that dinosaurs are endotherm and provide three explanations to support the idea. The lecturer, on the other hand, is not convinced that the explanations made by the author proved dinosaurs are endotherms.
First, the author of the reading asserts that only endotherms could live in cold climates and polar regions. Because of the discovery of dinosaurs in the polars, they should be considered endotherms. In contrast, the lecturer disagrees with the argument made by the author. He posits that polar regions are warmer in part of the year. The reason that dinosaurs migrated to warmer places was to reproduce, he says.
Second, it is claimed in the reading that dinosaurs must be categorized as endotherms because they have legs beneath their bodies. Reptiles and many lizards’ legs are placed on the body side. In contrast, the lecturer disputes this claim either. He notes that being legs under the body does not bring about the results the author claims. He notes that legs beneath the dinosaur’s bodies have other advantages as running.
Third, the writer outlines that dinosaurs’ bone structure has Haversian canals. The characteristic leads animals to grow rapidly and it is considered an endotherms ability. The lecturer disputes these outlines too. He explains that based on the growth ring in bone structure in dinosaurs’ bones showing stop grow in cold weather. He notes that endotherms have persistent growth in bones, a feature not observed in dinosaurs.
