Universities should be focused on the overall growth of a student.For this the university need to take care of the interest of a student studying a particular course.

Future of a student depend on his long term interest but at the same time it is also based on what type of nourishment and field he is going through at the university level.Studying a course in which one is interested will lead to many benefits both for the students and the universities.

Firstly it will be his or her's area of interest and one will be fully devoted to it and will give his full.This will further enhance ones grades and at the same time will be more will help one to grow more and more and become an erudite in that field.

secondly , a student pursuing the course of his interest will never be facing any pressures of moving to another course or having any second thoughts about how his life would have been if he had taken "that course" which he is currently not studying.

Thirdly taking a course of your choice will further help him to grow in it to his maximum potential and thus will produce individuals that are paragon of their field and will thus be a contribution of the society and growth of the country in every way possible.

Fourthly the individual will be studying what he loves and he will taking interest in class which further will help the professors of the university to be actively a part of it and thus will help them both to grow and will increase the standards of the university at every basic level.

There is also a case in which a student is not certain about in what truly his interest lies.In this case the student have a need to be familiar to the wide range of courses that are available and after he can decide which one to choose.Thus in this case it becomes important for a university to have courses related to maximum possible different fields so that the student can explore the various fields and interest that lies before him.After exploring them he can decide which one to choose.Also sometimes student take courses outside their field of interest just to explore something new.It has been found that students taking inter departmental courses get more good grades in their interest courses also as they focus more on their interest after they have a taste of something new.

Thus one can say universities should require students to take courses of their interest for their personal and professional growth but at the same time university should not force students to take a particular course at the beginning only if he wants to explore the interest with a diversified curriculum from various sources.
