the table below gives information about changes in models of travel in England between 1985 and 2000.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant

The list gives us specific information about the types of travel of England populations in year of 1985 and 2000. Every single list shows useful data to measure average miles traveled per person per year by different types of travel.

The longest distance traveled per person per year is given by car with more than 50 per cent distance if we compare with all types of travel mode in those two years. But, there are differences between the shortest distance traveled in these two years. In 1985, taxi held the last position, but in 200, this mode of travel became the second last after bicycle with only a mile difference per person per year.

The most significant decreasing is showed by the local bus which its distance was 429 miles/ person/ year in 1985, then it became 274 miles/ person/year in 2000. On the other hand, long distance bus’ distance increased dramatically and doubled from its record in 1985 to the record in 2000.

To sum up, there was improvement in distance traveled by England population from 4,740 to 6,745 miles/ person/ years. Yet, there were 2 modes of transportation that got lower distance, which are bicycle and local bus. Therefore, it shows the magnificient improvement of England’s transportation mode between fifteen years.
