A glance at the bar chart given compares the proportion of students of both genders working on the research projects for six courses. Generally speaking, more men than females involved in the academic studies for those subjects with some exceptions.

Among the six subjects mentioned, male students dominated the research on 3 subjects, namely Mathematics, Programming and Engineering. It is obvious that the most significant students’ gender imbalance recorded in this chart was Mathematics. Male students studying in this subject outnumbered females almost 5 to 1, which was a staggering disparity. Meanwhile, the other two subjects mentioned saw a twofold higher count of boys than girls.

On the other hand, Linguistic had a slightly higher female students proportion than male students. Around 110 girls students worked on this subject whereas just 80 boys took part in the research on this course. Lastly, for Natural Science and Psychology, research students from both genders were comparable (about 200).
