The bar chart illustrates the number of research students who are joined in 6 different subjects at a US University in 2011.

It is noticeable that the number of male students was dominated by 4 subjects out of 6. However, the only subject which female student is higher than male students was Linguistics.

Engineering, Programming, and Mathematics were favorable subjects among male students. Mathematics had the highest gap in quantity between male and female students about 160 students. Both Engineering and Programming had the same number for male students at 150 members, while female students were just under 90 members for both subjects.

Psychology and Natural Science were the most loved subjects for both genders. The number of males and females in natural science was the same at 200 members. Furthermore, Linguistics was the only subject which had a higher member of female students than male students at about 80 and 110 respectively.
