The provided bar graph illustrates the number of private vehicles people have in China for 12 years between 1987 and 1999. The unit is measured per thousand people.

Overall, it can be seen that the general trend was upward, with all years showing a dramatic increase in the number of private automobiles people had during that period.

At the start in 1987, people had approximately 250 personal means of transportation per thousand people and this number increased to slightly under the 1000 vehicle in 1991. In the subsequent years, the number of vehicles per thousand individuals soared and reached almost 2000 cars in 1995 which was doubled than the previous number. Furthermore, this number grew significantly through the following years, and in 1999, the figure rose well over 4000 vehicles per thousand citizens. The number of vehicle processions, in China, per thousand persons was nearly twelve times higher in 1999 than it was in 1987.
