The pie chart compares the percentage of different sectors which graduated students in nursing major chose after university in the UK in 2009 and the table illustrates the proportion of nursing employees in different health departments.

It is clear that the majority of graduates chose to work in the health sector in 2009. Noticeably, the percentage of hospital nurses accounted for the highest figure among others.

In 2009, the proportion of graduated students working for health companies and hospitals took up 84%, followed by merely 8% for those who worked and studied simultaneously. Meanwhile, the figures for graduates joining in further education and being unclear were similar, at 2%, which was doubled that of those who were unemployed.

In addition, 72,9% of graduates working in the health sector was hospital nurses, compared to only 1,3% for paramedic. While the percentage of midwives was the second-highest in the table, at 12,4%, which was 12 times higher than those who were mental nurses (0,4%). At the same time, the figures for Community nurse and other were 10,3% and 2,7% respectively.
