The chart below gives information on the percentage of British people giving money to charity by age range for the years 1990 and 2010 respectively.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

As it can be seen, the proportion of young adults aged between 18 and 25 years old donated the least in both years, whereas adults from 36 years old onwards donated the most amount of money.

The proportion of 18 to 25-year-olds donated approximately 15% and it fell by 10% in 2010, the greatest across all other age groups. Both 26 to 35-year-olds and 36 to 50-year olds followed fairly similar trends, as both percentages dipped by just above 5% as compared to 1990. in 2010, just under a quarter of 26 to 35-year-olds donated to charity, whereas around two-fifths of 36 to 50-year-olds donated. Surprisingly, the proportion of 35 to 50-year-olds that did a charitable donation was the highest at 42% in 1990.

On the other hand, adults from 51 years of age followed an opposite trend. The percentage of 51 to 65-year-olds grew by approximately 5%, from 35% to just below 40%, the highest in 2010. For those above 65 years old, the proportion grew marginally as percentage only rose to 35% in 2010, from 32.5% in 1990.
