The bar chart show the gender distribution of teachers in various educational background across a range disciplines in the UK in 2010.
In three of the six disciplines, female teachers outnumbered male teachers and the figures were the same for both gender in the field of college education. Male educator made up a particularly large proportion of the teacher group in lower educational settings: nursery/Preschool and Primary school. There were roughly ten times as many female teachers as male ones.
Men and women are more equally represented in later educational system where in college, there was a balance between the percentage of male and female. In private training institute, there was nearly as the percentage of female teachers as male teachers' (approximately 44 percent vs. 52 percent). University was the only discipline that male teachers outnumbered the figure for female.
Overall, the chart shows that in the UK, fundamental education system tends to be female dominated; however, male teachers have a significant presence in higher educational level.
