The chart below shows the proportion of British students at ine university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English in 2000 and 2010.

The pie charts show the information about the percentage of British students at one university in the United kingdom who apart from English dominated to speak other languages in 2000 and 2010.

In 2000, one fifth of students did not know any languages except English which decreased by 10% in the 2010. However, the proportion of students who spoke German , In addition to English who speak was about 10% in both the years. Further, the bilingual students who could speak Spanish accounted as 30% in 2000 to 35% in 2010.

The percentage of pupils at one university, who had ability of speaking another language and French only were same in 2000, but in 2010, proportion of another language experienced a 5% increase to 20% and French only percentage decreased from 15% to 10%. Moreover, the percentage of trilingual students also increased by 5%.

Overall, the proportion of British students who knew two or more languages increase in 2010 compared with 2000.
