Moving on to the details, In the year 1995, 72 billion minutes of call was made as local calls inside the country from fixed lines. At the same time ,calls going to national and international levels from fixed lines were only half of the earliest accounting to 37 billion minutes approximately. Where as, all types of mobile calls comes nearly 3 billion minutes.

Local call usage increased gradually in the following years and marked the highest of the period in 1999, about 90 billion minutes even if in 1998 it was just under 90 billion. And from 1999 to 2002, it decreased to 72 billion minutes similiar to the initial level. Eventhough, overall usage was lesser for both fixed line national and international minutes and mobile minutes, these two categories showed increasing trend till the end. In the year 2002, these total minutes were coming to 60 billion and 45 billion respectively.
