Given is a line graph which delineates the comparative data regarding worklessness rate in cities and countryside in Australia in 4 quarters of 2012. A glance at a graph reveals that unemployment rate for urban and rural areas followed different trends and while the figure for rural areas underwent a gradual decrease, almost opposite happened for the urban areas.
However, for all the time covered in the chart, bigger portion of the countryside dwellers was jobless than citizens of urban area. In the beginning, the difference was remarkable with approximately 6.5 percent for rural areas and about a bit above 2 percent for urban areas. Nonetheless, by the last quarter the gap become almost 0.2 percent with approximately 4.8 percent city dwellers and 5 percent rural area residents.
A more detailed look illustrates that, the overall trends were not always steady for both groups. The figure for city dwellers saw a considerable growth followed by a significant fluctuation. While the figure for country dwellers underwent a negligible oscillation before it experienced a progressive downfall.
